One Antiracist Action You Can Take Today: Remember George Floyd

By Guimel DeCarvalho
Vice President of People & Culture

Today is the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s murder. We must first honor his family’s wishes and remember George Floyd as a “gentle giant” who was trying to become a better father. George Floyd was a person and while his death is symbolic of the legacy of racism in America, it will forever be a deep wound in his family’s hearts.

When I remember George Floyd, I think about actions that I can take in my life, my community and my family. Today, remember George Floyd and take action wherever you are in whatever way you can.

Jeneé Osterheldt wrote a raw and powerful piece called “I, Too, Rage America”  listing the names of some of the Black and brown people killed* or brutalized by police since the murder of George Floyd.
