Responsibilities include: working closely with staff to ensure timely response to request for services, and that timely and accurate billing practices are being met. Responsible for performing utilization review and medical billing duties, and provides backup to the receptionist. Knowledge of 1CD-9 coding terminology is a plus. Receptionist (PT Evening, Milford):

The Receptionist will work cooperatively with staff and clients to ensure efficient and pleasant office management practices and administrative support. Duties include: answering the phone, checking in clients, collecting co-pays, data entry, communication with counseling and medical staff, closing the office at night. Pleasant professional manner with clients is a requirement.

Bilingual Community Organizers (Watertown):

2 -20 Hours Part-Time, Community Organizers will assist in implementing a federally funded and community based HIV/substance abuse prevention project in Public Housing in Waltham and Somerville with immigrant residents. This position includes outreach and recruiting Peer Leaders and program participants and providing educational workshops in HIV/SA prevention. Successful candidate will have proven work record of positive teamwork, flexibility, good communication skills and a sense of humor! Position may be combined with another Wayside position for full time. Candidate who must be fluent in either Haitian Creole & English or Spanish & English. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Human Service area or related area or equivalent experience required. Minimum two years experience in working with minority populations.

Community Organizer (Watertown):

Part Time (20 hours) position to implement Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol Project, a community based substance abuse prevention initiative with the Watertown Youth Coalition. Responsibilities include: to recruit members to the Coalition, facilitate meetings, provide leadership to the staff team and subcommittees, assist in all aspects of social marketing strategies, and outreach to businesses and parents to engage them in the Coalition’s community wide efforts.

Qualifications sought include: demonstrated experience in community organizing, communitywide health communication and prevention strategies, and enthusiastic interest in working with youth, parents, and community stakeholders. Degree in Public Health, Community Development, Health Communications, Social Work or related field or combination of related experience required. Excellent communication, written and verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to perform multiple tasks is required.

INTERNSHIPS

Wayside is a teaching and training facility that provides graduate and undergraduate students with internships and clinical placement. Each year, Wayside welcomes a large group of student interns from Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy and Expressive Therapy programs. Field placements are arranged in one of our three agency components: Counseling Services, Residential and Day Services and Family-Based Services. Student interns participate in Wayside programming and training and are integrated into our day to day delivering of support services to clients. Our interns are integral and important members of our team and are included in Wayside's mission of providing responsible and effective client care. While our interns receive excellent training and supervision from us, we, too, benefit from our interns' energy, experience and education.

ADMINISTRATION

Accounting Assistant (PT, Framingham):

16 hours. Responsibilities Include: Provides primary responsibility for all phases of accounts payable and receivables processing including: vendor file maintenance, invoice and payment requisition processing, and accounts payable and receivables records management. Assist with accounts receivables, and other general accounting responsibilities. The qualified candidate will also be able to effectively communicate with vendors regarding various accounts payable issues and receivables queries. Qualifications: High school graduate required; desirable is Bachelor of Science degree or other degree. Associate of Arts degree plus one year accounts payable work experience or; Technical training in closely related field and two years or more accounts payable work experience may be substituted for education requirements.
